Lisa Bouchelle

    Lisa Bouchelle is an artist highly respected by her peers, lauded by the press, and who has been building a loyal fan base with constant touring, often driving herself across the country with just the guitar on her back. And that hard work has paid off with the penultimate album of her career, Vandals, Thieves & Lovers, a tour-de-force of Americana that features not only Lisa’s stellar songwriting, vocals, and guitar playing, but contributions from a number of well-known names in the Americana world, including three Grammy winners.

   “I feel like I’ve really connected with my roots, and that shows in the songwriting and performances,” says Lisa about the recording of the album. “I think there’s some real passion in many of the songs, and also a bit of light-hearted fun, and most of all, a celebration of things that hopefully bring some happiness and joy into people’s lives.”

    The new album includes guest musicians such as Amanda Shires on violin, Larry Campbell on banjo and mandolin, Clay Cook from the Zac Brown Band on guitar and Hammond organ, Waddy Wachtel on guitar, Doyle Grisham from Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefer Band on pedal steel, Jake Clemons from Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band on sax, Tim Carbone from Railroad Earth on fiddle, Rich Scannella from Tonic on drums, and Hal B. Selzer from Joan Jett & The Blackhearts on bass, among others.

    Lisa is no stranger to working with some of the biggest names in music. She has sung backup for Bruce Springsteen, dueted in concert with Jon Bon Jovi on his country-tinged hit “Who Says You Can’t Go Home,” and has toured with and/or opened for The Wallflowers, Train, Blues Traveler, Shooter Jennings, Bryan Adams, Donavon Frankenreiter, Don Felder of The Eagles, Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Steve Miller, and The Wailers, among others.

    Lisa’s personal connection to her fans is something she takes pride in. “Larger than life with a voice that could fill an amphitheater, and still make you feel like you’re the only one she’s singing to…” is how Philadelphia’s Out On The Town describes her, and the effect she has on audiences.

    Lisa started singing at a young age, because although her parents loved her deeply, the only time they would stop arguing was when little Lisa sang. So she sang every chance she got, feeling it was her job to keep harmony in the family. Now, after losing both her parents, she still sings every chance she gets, whether it be driving thousands of miles across the US on her tours, busking in the Philadelphia train station for tips, or engaging in one of her favorite endeavors, singing for sick children in the hospital as a volunteer with the Musicians On Call organization.

    The new single, in anticipation of the full album release later this summer, is called “A Light To Come Home To (feat. Amanda Shires and Larry Campbell).” “All people, no matter their job or walk of life, need a ‘light’ to come home to after a hard day’s work,” relates Lisa. “'Light’ isn’t necessarily a lamp that shines, but is different and personal for all people; a significant other, or a dog, for some a book and a cup of tea, or a cold beer, for some, often for me, my guitar that waits for me in my living room. It’s comforting to know that after you go out and ‘give it your all,’ there is comfort to return to afterwards that will serve to recharge our body and renew our spirit.”

    Lisa’s last album, Jump In!, yielded two Billboard A/C Top 25 singles, including "Love Is For The Making," which reached #17 and stayed on the chart for 14 weeks, an impressive feat for an indie artist. The video for the song has over 4 million views on YouTube, and videos utilizing the song garnered over 4.6 million views on TikTok.

    The music of Lisa Bouchelle unapologetically encompasses a wide variety of genres, including Americana, singer-songwriter, classic rock, gospel, and more, and the songs are all based around her unique acoustic guitar grooves. She was named one of “10 Rising Artists To Watch” by GQ Magazine, one of “Ten Up-And-Coming Artists” by Paste Magazine, and Relix Magazine called her “One of the underground music world’s most respected artists.”
